New Year - New Products
And a new schedule
Happy New Year everyone. Last year was interesting for me. I did absolutely nothing with Wayuką́ and put all of my focus on writing. This year, I plan on doing the opposite. With that shift, I ended up creating a new work schedule last month. Instead of randomly doing things, every task is now assigned a specific day. I’ll be keeping track throughout the next couple of months of how much more or less productive I am and whether or not anything needs changed.
New Schedule
Since I’m shifting my attention from writing to creating more art and products, I figured it would be a good idea to utilize a schedule. One thing I’ve noticed is that my week is more balanced. Instead of trying to fit as much as I can in everyday, I now have specific tasks sprinkled throughout the week.
Monday: Handmade products, inventory, quality control
Tuesday: Print-on-demand products, review sales data
Wednesday: Writing, editing, story research
Thursday: Tribal language study and worksheet creation
Friday: Administrative duties, website updates, social media content, bookkeeping
Saturday: Create new designs
Sunday: Clean office and relax
Changes & New Products
I’m still restructuring some aspects of the business. So far, I’ve made a lot of changes to the website (revamped main page, changed product page setup and navigation menu, added a Founder’s Statement). I’m also in the process of adding new products and designs.
The first new product is magnetic bookmarks. I wanted to make some last year, but because my focus was on writing, I couldn’t find the time. Now I have the time and can’t stop making them.
I’m still working on the mini bookmarks. Some will have tassels and others won’t. I’d like to create some mini rune card bookmarks but still have to work out the design. I will be working on more note/greeting cards and I’m toying around with the idea of postcards. Originally, I was thinking about adding gift tags, but I’m not fully committed to that, so it probably won’t happen.
Rune Cards
The Black Grunge and Black Glass Rune Cards have been out of stock since late last year. I am working on getting those back in stock. As for new decks, I’m thinking about creating one with the Cycles design. So, what’s the hold up? Supply issues. I ran out of he paper I used to print them on. The good news is, as of this morning, it’s with my local post office, so I’m hoping it’ll be here either today or tomorrow.
Other Products
I’m in the process of adding the rest of the products that are currently available through my Etsy store onto my official website. I’ll also be adding the German t-shirts back onto my site as well. Will they be available through Etsy? I haven’t decided, but they’ll definitely be on my site.
