Connection
I started the design with a diamond pattern, and that’s all. No title. No color palette. Pretty much a clean slate. After I created the middle pattern and chose the colors, I began moving some things around, deleting some things, and swapping colors. It was at that point that the word “connection” popped into my head.
a relationship in which a person, thing, or idea is linked or associated with something else
The overall theme just isn’t connection, but specifically the connection to ancestry and tradition. The power and knowledge transferred through lineal descent (ancestral knowledge) and the importance of embracing your ancestry and traditions.
Diamond - connection to ancestors, balance and harmony
Straight Line - intentional path, lineal descent
Black - power, mystery, authority
Peach - warmth, emotional comfort
Terracotta - stability, connection to nature and tradition
The black bands running north to south and east to west act as roads. These roads meet in the center where all of the colors used in the design unite.
I’ve added a few products to the Official Store showcasing this design and will be adding more throughout next month and also getting the products added to Etsy as well.
